August block for Mary Ann & forgotten pic July for Karen

This was so fun to make.  I left my comfort zone and yet pulled only from stash; how does that happen?  Is stuck in a fabric rut a thing?  If so, thanks for pulling me out of it!

Made in August for Mary Ann

Forgot to post July block made for Karen

For Queen Michelle of Hive 3

It's the last day of August, but still August!  I have had my blocks done for a couple weeks now, but for some reason I have a "I will wait for tomorrow " attitude when it comes to the blogging.  I don't know why. It's not like it's hard or time consuming. Nor were the blocks, easy peasy yes they were, so I made four.  I expect to mail them this afternoon, I'm sorry if you don't get them for a while, as they are coming from the other side of the planet!

August Block for Hive 6

This block was so easy to make I wish I had had time to make another one!  I was lucky to get this one in under the wire.  Today is move in day for me!  Yahoo!!

August block for Mary Ann, Hive 6

Here is my garden block for Mary Ann. I had to re-do my 4 patches because I miscalculated the square size and made them too small the first time. I ended up using the method Mary Ann suggested and it worked great. It was mailed today.

Blocks for Michelle - August

Hello!
This block was a lot of fun to make.  I just finished a king sized log cabin quilt, so I was a little "meh" about one more log cabin, but this was a lot of fun!  I really like the outcome, and cannot wait to see what the finished quilt looks like after the blocks are finished!  These two blocks mailed out Friday 8/18.
Thanks!!  Lisa

August HST for Hive 1

This month's block made me realize how low my stash of pink fabrics is!  I have a bunch of small scraps, but only 1 large enough to make the required size squares.  I hope these work well!

Blue and Orange Bentos for Michelle

These were easy and fun! Perfect for August, when I haven't had enough time for sewing.
I mailed these last week, but they'll probably take awhile to travel down under.  I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with all your blocks, Michelle.

Hive 6 - August blocks for Mary Ann

Mary Ann requested the garden star block for a charity project that she has undertaken. Once I got my mind around the unusual size, they went together easily.

Looking forward to seeing your finished quilts Mary Ann!
The blocks  went out in today's mail.

Laura

Hive 2 block for Monica

A fast, fun, and easy block to make.  I think I'm the only one who "scrapped up" my individual block.  I wonder how easily it will be spotted in the finished quilt.  😊  I can hardly wait to see it.

Hive 6 blocks for Mary Ann

August Hive 2 block for Monica!

I think I might be the missing link this month.  Is there a prize for that?  :)  I've had the pieces cut for quite a while, and finally sat down today to get it together.  What a fun block, Monica!  I hope these colors work well with your scheme.  I'll put mine and Cyndi's blocks in the mail to you tomorrow.  Happy Sunday, everyone!

Garden Stars for Mary Ann

Queen Mary Ann asked for a Garden Star block for the quilt she is making for Friendship House in Fayetteville.  Mary Ann is planning on making a twin-bed quilt for each bed in Friendship House--24 total!

Here are my blocks for you, Mary Ann.  I hope they work for you and I'm excited to be a part of a quilt for a great organization.

Emily, Hive 6

Hive 2 block for Monica

Here's your block Monica!  It was a brilliant idea to have several bees make the same block to get a good sized quilt.  I may have to steal it someday.  And I like the idea of the signature blocks too.  This was dropped in the mail last weekend so hopefully it should have arrived already.

Have fun with your quilt!

Crashing August Hive 8

Tori,

When I trimmed
the blocks it left a small border on one side.  I have some leftover fabric so I will chop off that edge and make a larger seam allowance before mailing.  Could you send me your mailing address to srecicar@hotmail.com. Shelly Recicar

Hive 7 block has been recieved

August Hive 7

I love this Starry Sky block that Lauren requested.  I have seen this done in many ways and it is always stunning.  Hope you like my version!  I left the paper on so you won't have wonky bias edges.

Enjoy!

Monica's August Blocks

Hello,

I finished my August blocks for Monica.  I had not seen this block before so it was the first time making them. Pretty simple to put together and I like the way it looks when you start putting the blocks next to each.  I used a novelty fabric for the red.  Hope you like them and it works with your quilt.

Thanks,
Cyndi

Hive 1 Block for Sue

Hello, it's Diana from Hive 1. Sue, our queen this month, wanted a fun block that had 2 different sized half square triangles with some white sashing. She asked that we keep the block in 2 pieces to give her more options when assembling her quilt. I think it's going to look amazing.

Hive 4 August block

I ended up making two blocks.  I hope I got the colors pretty close...thanks for the guidance using the Kona colors.

Hive 9 August Block for Shelly

Your block is a quick one to make and I'm sure your grandson will have a lot of fun with his new quilt!!  I wish I had done better with the points but I may well come back to this pattern.

August for Kristi Hive 5!

Hi all!

I did it!  What great motivation you all provided!  Thanks for keeping me honest!

This block came together really fast, and it was nice to pull out some purples that I have been hanging on to.

I'm excited to see the finished product, Kristi!

Hope everything is going well with you all!

Hive 7: August 2017

Have I said I love paper piecing!

It's a good thing, since Hive #7 has paper pieced a lot in 2017!

This month Lauren chose this fabulous block!

It was certainly fun to do!

Peace to all,

Laura VanVleet

August Block for Monica, Hive 2

I must admit this is my favourite block on Stash Bee this year, I love this block, in fact it is on my bucket list, wonderful.  Thank you so much for introducing me to it Monica.

It was a lovely block to make too, I hope you like the fabrics and it fits in well with the others.  Sorry about the pic, I had it ready to go in the mail when I realised I had forgot to take the pic.  I cropped it and your block does have points, honest.

With smiles from,

Thanks for your patience!

I am all caught up now!

Hey All! I took a trip in July which turned out to be much longer than anticipated. I did not bring my fabrics or machine with me so I was very far behind on my July Block.

Here is the block I have created for Julie.
I used the Wonky 9 Patch Star on the Nido Quilters blog, from their Block of the Month 2014.
I hope you like it Julie.

Here is the block I made for Monica for August. I

Mailing blocks later today. I will email you the tracking numbes after I leave the post office.

Queen Bee Mary Ann asked for the garden Star block.
I hope this block is what you were looking for Mary Ann.  I had a little trouble trying to figure out the best way to do this block since it was an odd size for me.  It looks like such an easy block.
It's done and in the mail.
