Hive 4 October blocks - thank you

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has made me blocks - they are all stunning.

So far I have received blocks from
Caroline
Pauline
Jennifer
Kelsey
Diane
Lynn
Carol
Cyndi

And I've seen posted blocks from
Jess
Sandra
Laura
Candace
Christy

And Mandy has been in touch to let me know she'll be a bit late! If anyone else is running late, that's fine - I don't think I'll be getting these beautiful blocks any closer to a completed quilt until after Christmas!

Please let me know if I've missed you!

Here are all of the blocks I've received so far, plus eight that I made when I was putting the tutorial together.

PS. The blocks I sent Amber for August have just arrived back at my house - I can't work out if I addressed  the package wrong, or if someone has mixed up the "to" address and the "from" address - I'll try and get it back in the post this week - sorry for the delay!

Thank you everyone!

And here is are the HIVE 2 November blocks:
Since Dana is unable to participate in Hive 2 since she is sailing about. She offered to allow me to take her spot. I am requesting two blocks --one a self portrait, the other a portrait of your favorite pet. I made three pets because I could not say anyone of my pets is less a favorite than the other.

October Bookshelf Blocks for Rachelle

I finished my bookshelf blocks for Rachelle today.  I hope you like them Rachelle.

You can read more about my blocks here.

Vicki  :O)

Hive #2 October block

I hope you like it. I was not sure any more if the black fabric is Kona black so I did not use it. Hopefully you don't mind that I used Japanese fabrics as they are thicker than normal quilting fabrics.

Anyway I did one block with the black fabric (I never buy black so actually it has to be the left over from laurels block) and I will sent this as well. Have fun playing around :)

Hive 3 October Flower

Here are your flowers Diane!  I have been dying to make the Retro Flower block, but my math skills are lacking today and it ended up too small. It was a fun block to make!  The flower block above the Retro Flower block is one of my favorites, and should be no problem to size down if needed.  I hope these will brighten your winter :)

Here you go Vickey!

Hope these work for you.

Flowerpot

Here's my October block for Diane.  I used a block from Kaffe Fassett's book Quilts in the Sun as inspiration.  I don't applique much, and I'd been wanting to try this block.  It's actually alot like Adrienne's, tho I didn't see hers until mine was done!

Confession: I was thinking "solid background" and "flower" and about probably doing applique (ack), so I didn't read the directions as clearly as I should have.  My background was not a 13" square, tho in the back of my mind I kinda thought maybe something wasn't quite right.  I'm happy with my applique, and I sewed two matching panels to the side, to make a 13" square.  Instead of a goof, let's say the seams are "a design element highlighting the vertical nature of the block."  Yes?

I will mail it out this week.

Hive #4 Blocks for Jennie

Here are my blocks for this month.  They are not trimmed or put together (the pictures are just cropped).  I had a lot of fun making these blocks.  I think this is going to be a beautiful quilt and cannot wait to see all the blocks together.

I was an angel for this month, so this is my second block.

I will put these in the mail and send them your way.

Enjoy!

Hive #3 October Block

Here is a bright flower for you Diane.  I hope you like it!!

September Hive #2

There are still some blocks missing and I am not sure now, if they are on the way or have never been done. I don't want to blame anybody but please if you did not make the block or forgot to sent it, just sent an email to mail_from_cheeky_monkey@yahoo.com. It is all about fairness so just give me a shout so I know when I can start putting the blocks together. It will be a Christmas present and we all know how busy the last weeks will be ....

Thank you all so much! It will be a very colorful and lovely quilt. I already love it and can't wait to go playing with all these lovely blocks!

Hive #2 October blocks for Rachelle

Hi Everyone, this is my first post for Stash Bee, My name is Nataki, and I'm a new member of Hive 2. I am having so much fun already! Here are my blocks for Rachelle.  And I had a lot of fun making them.  But after using templates from the link Rachelle posted, I made my own. For some reason the printer made them smaller then 6.5 or I just cut off the 1/2 inch seem allowance, ether way my first block I had to alter because it was a lot smaller than 6.5 inches.  I hope you like them Rachelle, I wanted to make basket like you had in your pictures so with the help of EQ6 I made a basket on top of a book.  The bookcase quilt blocks was a lot of fun.  I might make another one before I ship them off, but right now I have costume duty for my two little guys for the end of the month trunk or treat.
