Hive 1 June 2016 King's Cross block

Hi all, Francis here :-)

I have chosen a block which is called King's Cross.

It's a free pattern by Tara Faughnan for Michael Miller, you can find it here:

I would like to ask you to use fun bright flowery fabric for the 10,5" block, a fun bright fabric for the 8,5" strips and a polka/pin dot for the little square.

If you do not have a polka/pin dot fabric, just use a solid one :-)

Cut a 10,5" block and cut it twice on the diagonal

Cut four strips of 8,5x2,5"and one 2,5x2,5" square

Sew one flower triangle to a 8,5"strip and sew another triangle to the other side of the 8,5 strip,
repeat this with the other triangles and strip and make two

Sew the two strips to the little square

Sew the long strip to the two triangles like below

Sew the remaining triangles to the long strip

Press the block open

Place your 12,5"ruler on the block and trim back to 12,5"

And here is your block!

I will hand quilt this quilt and donate it to Droomdekentjes, a Dutch organisation which gives quilts to sick children and their siblings.
