Hive 7 -- Shari's block

These two blocks are off on their way to Shari -- enjoyed organizing the fabric for these blocks!  I work out of a big stash with lots of depth but sometimes it's a bit light on newer prints so the challenge for me with a scrappy block is to choose fabrics that will blend into the current fabric trends.  I think I did it!  And it was just as easy to cut two?!?
Shari asked where my dream vacation would be and why.
Hiking in New Zealand!!
And I've already done it!!
Three lovely weeks with Road Scholar hiking the southern end of the North Island and the northern end of the South Island.  Hiking vacations are my favorite -- good exercise and an opportunity to see parts of an area most people don't see.

I even visited a quilt shop in Wellington, NZ where I found several regional prints.  This one became a small wallhanging that reminds me of the feeling I had gazing across a valley at hillsides of spectacular tree ferns!!
