The block I've chosen is a star block from Clover and Violet with low volume background and a solid star centre which can be any solid or print that reads as solid in any colour you want! A scrappy low volume background would be great but if you don't have that in your scraps or stash, a mixture of creams, greys and whites would work too.
The inspiration for this is on Clover and Violets blog here and the piecing instructions are here.
You will need
Background fabric: 8 - 2" x 5" Rectangles and 4 -5"x 5" squares
Star fabric: 8 - 2"x 2" squares and 1 - 3 1/2" x3 1/2" square
Draw a line along the diagonal of the 2" squares and place on the 2" x 5" rectangles as shown.
Using the sew and flip method, sew along the marked line and trim 1/4" away from the seam. Press open. 4 of the pieces will have the line going from bottom left to top right and 4 with top right to bottom left so you will have pieces like this when these are sewn together to make the star points
Sew in rows as shown
Finally sew the rows together and trim to 12 1/2" x 12 1/2"
It's a lovely simple little block and I hope you have fun with it!

I have seen this quilt done before. It will be very pretty once finished. Nice color choice too =)
That's gorgeous - can't wait to try it!
