Hive 2 October Block... What to do? What to do?

Hi!  I'm Kathy and I've so enjoyed being a part of Stash Bee this year!

          I enjoy taking classes, and participating in mystery quilts & Guild challenges to push my boundaries.  I really like learning new things.  When a friend told me about Stash Bee I was tickled to put my name in the hat and thrilled when I heard from Diana (on my birthday no less!) that I would be part of Hive 2!  I thought I decided on a five-pointed star block, but then I started seeing so many interesting blocks each month.  I changed my mind again and again.  What to do?!?!

          All your blocks have been so fun to make... some quite boundary-pushing, though not scary or difficult.  There were several blocks I had never made before, and there were a few colours not from my usual palette.  In January, and again in February, I made "test blocks" to make sure I was piecing accurately before I made the real things.

          I thought: "This is fun.  If I keep this up, I'll be able to make a Stash Bee souvenir."  So I did.  Here they all are on my design wall.

          And then I thought: "If I asked my Hive-mates to help, I would have at least 20 blocks and that would be enough for an entire quilt top!"  So that's exactly what I'm going to do....

          Ladies!  I would like to have your block in my colours as our October Hive 2 Stash Bee block!  Please make the block that you requested during your month as Queen Bee, but make them in my colours: purple and pink.

          These are some of the tools I use when I'm thinking of colours for a quilt: a sheet of Robert Kaufman's Kona Solids colours, Joen Wolfrom's book, Color Play, and her Ultimate 3-in-1 Color Tool.

Background Colour: White
Feel free to use any print, solid, or batik.  There can be other colours in the fabric, but it should read as  white  from a distance... except for you, Lisa!  You should use fabrics that are "white with black print but read more white than black" as you required in your June tutorial.

Colour Family 1: My Purples
According to RK's Kona Solids, I want anywhere from 258 PANSY to 188 HIBISCUS.  According to Joen, that's true violets and red-violets, including tints and shades of them.  That's cards 13 & 14 from the Tool.  Feel free to use any print, solid, or batik.  There can be other colours in the fabric, but it should read as purple.  

Colour Family 2: My Pinks
According to RK's Kona Solids, I want anywhere from 1225 MED. PINK to 490 HONEYSUCKLE and from 143 PETAL to 1295 POMEGRANATE.  According to Joen, that's magentas and blue-reds, including tints and shades of them.  That's cards 17 & 18 from the Tool.  Feel free to use any print, solid, or batik.  There can be other colours in the fabric, but it should read as pink.

          That leaves only two small hiccups: July and November.
          Julie, back in July you asked us to make one of two blocks for you.  If you would please,  make your 16-patch block instead of a star.
          Heather, you haven't been Queen Bee yet and so don't have a block yet.  I would still like to have your block in my colours.  That does not mean you need to design or even decide on your block yet!  Please make and send your block in my colours in November -- after your tutorial has posted -- when the rest of us will be making your block.  I don't want to stress you or be the reason you reveal your block before its time.

          And that's it!  I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to puzzle-piecing all our different blocks together!  I'm downright giddy!  Thank you all very much!
