Hi Shelly!
This was a fun block to do! Hardest part for me was picking fabrics!
This will be a great quilt for your grandson--Happy Birthday to him!

I'm ready to put them in the mail, but need to confirm your mailing address. Could you email it to me-eahorgan@gmail.com.

Hive 1 August Block for Sue

Sue asked for HST units--a larger, plain unit next to a smaller unit with partial borders--and gave a lovely array of color possibilities.  These were quick to put together, so I'm getting them in the mail unusually early in the month.  I'm not sure what Sue's vision is for putting all of her blocks together, but I bet it'll be gorgeous no matter what!

Sue--will pop them in the mail this week!

Michelle,  I certainly hope you like my blocks.  These were fun and fast to make.

When I come to Australia, I'll definitely find your Winery and restaurant.  I love wine from Australia and South Africa.

Hive 5 August Block for Kristi Wonky Star

Hi Kristi, Who doesn't LOVE a Wonky Star?? So without thinking when the post went up I wrote down the square measurements and colours and put it next to my sewing machine for the weekend. The weekend comes and I make four blocks..,

Can you see the problem?
Yup nothing scrappy there! GRRRR
So I made two more..,

Kristi I am sending you all 6. Maybe the four non-scrappy you can pop in the corners?

Hive 3 blocks for Michelle

I really had planned to make 2, in each of the color ways, but my first two ended up the same plan
, so then 2 more were created.  On the way to you soon.  They were fun.

Mary Ann's friendship star

I read directions more carefully to discover your request. (Photos were deceiving to me who is very visual.)

Here are 3 blocks: blue, purple and orange.
They went together easily.

Mailed: Tuesday A.M.

Hive 5 - August Blocks

With my second baby due September 1, I figured I had better be on top of my sewing this month in case he decides to make an early appearance.  Time management for the win!

Kristi asked us for wonky star blocks this month which go together pretty quickly.  I can be a bit of a perfectionist sometimes and the engineer in me struggles to be wonky so hopefully I was able to put enough wonky-ness in these blocks for you.

Here are my finished blocks.

They already went out in the mail yesterday so hopefully they will make it to you soon!

August, Hive 4 block

August, wow!  Where is the summer going?  I hope you're all doing well.  Here's my block for the month.

The colors don't look to good in this picture, so I hope these work for you.

August Alpine for Monica

Monica asked for fabrics that mimic the look of linen with lines in the print and when I looked at her photo, I knew I had some selections in my stash that would work well. I took my time to carefully draw the lines, stitch directly on the line and gently press the triangles back to make the flying geese and they turned out great.
Interesting secondary design when you see all the blocks coming together. Block is on its way!
Happy quilting!
