Hive 7 July 2018 block tutorial - Scrap Bin Geese

Hello Hive 7! I'm Laura and july is my month to be Queen . This is my 2ndyear in Stash bee and I have chosen to add to my block collection from last year, so my block choice is the scrap bin geese block as illustrated in this tutorial

 http://www.abrightcorner.com/2017/02/scrap-bin-geese-block-tutorial.html

I'm a huge fan of pink so i'm hoping that you could do my blocks in pinks, with low volume or light grays as the backgrounds
Any shade of pink is welcome..light, dark, hot pink, barbie pink, magenta and even salmon/coral shades!

This was my fabric pull for the blocks I've made so far. I was able to pull all my pinks from my scraps.

To make 1 block you will need to cut

12 - 2 1/2 " squares pink
12 - 2 1/2 x 6 1/2 rectangles of background fabric

lay them out in a pleasing arrangement and then draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of each
2 1/2" pink square... orient them as shown below with the background rectangles right sides down on the right side of the background pieces

Stitch on the drawn diagonal line....flip , press and trim the seam to 1/4"

Next, sew the sections together in pairs...i push the top diagonal seam up at this point so that the points will nest together
press seams open

The last step is to sew the rows together, matching the centre seams...I pressed these seams open as well. VOILA!  all done!

The block should measure 12 1/2" at this point.

Thanks so much to all my hive mates for making these for me!

Laura
