Hive 4: October

My name is Jennie and I am Queen Bee for October. I live in Blyth in Northumberland in north-east England – just north of Newcastle. Northumberland is generally quite pretty with moors, castles and gorgeous coastline. Blyth is a well-established port and mining town now adorned with some enormous wind turbines, so it's not really what I'd call pretty. But we do have a stunning beach!

My block for October is inspired by this quilt, made by Becky. Check out her beautiful quilt that she entered in the Bloggers Quilt Festival in May. Here is my version:

I'm asking for purples and pinks for the central strip, cream for the “outline” and purple triangles in the corners. As long as the fabrics are primarily purple and pink, anything goes, but please don't use too much plain dyed.

The cream is also nothing specific – I've used a painters canvas fabric which is off white, but not yellowy/beigy/grey-y, so quite clean and bright.

I posted the tutorial on my blog here

I can't wait to see what everyone makes - thank you so much!

Jennie
