Hive 1 - Getting in the Holiday Spirit

This was a fun block, despite how I kept sewing pieces in the wrong order and upside down. I just eeked by with the green - a color I lack in my collection.

Hive 4: November Block for Julia

Julia requested the Winged Square block this month in pinks and oranges.  This is going to be a great quilt, very bright when she puts it all together!  I had just the right fabrics in my stash and hope that she enjoys the block that I made.  This was my last block for StashBee as I will be taking a break next year due to a large remodeling project.  Thanks to all the members of Hive 4 for a wonderful experience this year, both with the blocks I received and the blocks I made for the others.

Hive 9 - November Block

Here is my block for November!  Kristi requested some low volume "made" fabric.  I don't have a lot of low volume with color but I did have a lot of white on white.

Hope you like it Kristi!  I left it slightly big so that you can trim it down exactly how you want.  Can't believe we're already at the end of Stash Bee 2016!  Looking forward to next year!

Hive 4 - July

I finished the quilt! I love how it turned out - the variations in greys, the pops of color, everything.  Thank you to all my hive mates!!

Candy Canes for Cheri...

I had fun putting together the Candy Cane block for Cheri this month. Although I didn't listen to Christmas music while I put it together I did get into the holiday spirit. I can't believe Thanksgiving is this week. It's been a fun year participating in the Stash Bee and I look forward to next year. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

Hive 5 Novemeber Fall Stars for Stephanie

What a lovely quilt this is going to be for Stephanie!  Great color scheme and those blocks are so beautiful.  Everyone is posting such fantastic color combos.  Sending these in the afternoon post today if I can get there in time.  I'm having a complete breakdown trying to remember how to load my photos.  ARRGGGHH.  Done!!

Enjoy these Stephanie, I hope they're a worthy addition.  Also sending some extra 2.5" fabric scraps that I hope will be useful.

Hive 9 - October & November

It's my turn to apologize for being late. The blocks were sent off a couple of weeks ago but I never got around to posting the photos.

The 9 patch was easy, although I did struggle to find enough purple prints. I have turned into such a Kona solids girl and purple isn't really my color. Neither is teal :( but I think I managed to find enough. I certainly stretched the definition of purple...

Ah....and here is some made-fabric. I love 15 Minutes of Play and was very excited to get to it. I trimmed it to 12,5, just to be safe. I know it said 12"in the instructions, but it looked to me like it was a 12,5" block, so I wanted to make sure. You can always trim more later ;)

This is my last post as I will not be returning for the 2017 Stash Bee. I really like the concept, but as a quilter I have moved more and more into the improv territory. At this point, I just don't want to make "traditional" blocks anymore; there aren't enough of us free-spirited minds around to make-up an improv hive ;) I hope y'all continue to have fun and do what you love!!!
