This Block should be there already. I was not late but my gmail account decided to kick me out permanently. Well at least it is fixed now.

And while I was waiting for my email to work I put my bee blocks together. This is only half the quilt but these are the blocks I received. Thanks so much everyone

July Block for Hive 3

Hello! I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. With the scorching Florida sun, we tend to stay indoors most of July to stay cool. I'd love to spend that time at my sewing machine, but my 6 year old usually has other things in mind. Oh well.  Onto this month's block --

Sarah asked us for some large string blocks and wanted to know what some of the fabrics were used for in the past. The light blue/white fabric was leftover from the lining of my Miranda bag, the teal was used in my StashBee quilt from last year, and the red/white cross-hatched fabric is from my Spinning Stars wall hanging.

I used my 12.5" ruler to make sure that it was big enough for you to trim down. I hope you like it!

July Block for Hive 2 (Marga)

Oh how I love Stash Bee.   It certainly is getting me out of my comfort zone and I am so happy about that.   I am also very happy that I just finished Marga's quilt block yesterday.   Was a little afraid of it, but had such a good time putting it together.  Marga so hoping that it will fit into your quilt.  I just realized morning that I may have used one of Sue's patterns from her tutuorial.  I will send this and you let me know.... I am always willing to make another one.   This block will go in the mail probably on Wednesday since the PO is always closed by the time I get off work.  Again Marga, thank you for another challenge...it was FUN.

July hive crash for Tracy

I love novelty fabrics.  Love, love, love novelty fabrics.  So when Tracy asked for a block featuring 5" novelty squares, I had to crash.  I knew that I could potentially spend hours on fabric selection going through my 5" I Spy squares, so I grabbed a container that just had extras from fabrics I'd bought (as opposed to from swaps) and went with my gut.

Monkeys with babies, glasses, and ice cream sandwiches.  The string blocks are purple batiks--you said go with what is most like me!  I'm also sending a square with sewing machines, hope you can add it in somewhere.  This went in the mail on Friday, along with my block from my hive.

Feather block

I have seen this feather block all over the place - now I have made 2.  Probably the only 2 I will ever make - this dyslexic brain really had fits with the left side flip......but I got it!  It can be so frustrating - things that should be so easy sometimes befuddle me!  However - I am happy to send these along to you!  Hope you like them!!!

Oh, how do I love this block? Let me count the ways... I'll spare you. But I did enjoy this one and envision my self making more in the future. It will be a stunning quilt❤️

Hive 4: July: Random Gray HSTs for Amanda

Hello quilt friends. This month I got my block done early. Huzzah! I also pre-bought postage so I can pop it in the mail ASAP. Huzzah!

I really enjoyed the randomness of how HSTs were stitched together.  I already had a charm pack of grays ("silent film" by Kona) that worked magnificently for this.  I did manage to bias skew some of them but I had plenty of room to trim things down to a normal HST.  I'm inspired by this block and want to make it again.

Hive 5 Patty's block July

Patty's quadtrefoil is finished.  With summer speeding by, I finally had a day to sew.  This block is one that I hope to do again.  I will mail this later today.  MJ
