Hive 2: Blocks for Yanick

I love Yanick's choice of paper-pieced economy blocks! So fun and quick- it took me much longer to decide which fabrics to use than it did to sew these cheery blocks. Today's dreary, gray weather here in northern Minnesota made photographing a challenge but working on these sure brightened things up. If you've never paper-pieced, this is the perfect first project.

I'm so glad Yanick asked the question about favorite designers/fabric line. I find it so much easier and quicker when sewing for others if I know what they like. And I get a little more excited to sew a block I know the recipient will love. So a few of my most favorite favorites are Heather Ross, Caroline Friedlander, Cotton and Steel, Tula Pink and have you seen Heather Givans' new line, Succulents? Love those too!- Sue

  1. Your blocks (and surprise gift) arrived and are gorgeous. I love how you fussy cut the L. Jansdotter tree!
    Thank you so much.
