This block was fantastic to piece. Everything came together in a snap.
I really liked how the scrappy low volume background worked in this block. I don't buy much low volume fabric so I dug around to find fabric. Now I'm thinking of using some of the scraps of low volume fabric I found to make some scrappy blocks.

Hive Four - February Blocks for Carmit!
Ummmm...I just love everything about these blocks. I love the way they look. I loved making them. I think I need a quilt with these blocks. Sunday Morning Quilts is one of my favorite project books as well. I'm so glad you chose this. So much fun I decided to do two! They mailed last week. Hopefully you have them already??
Hive 1 February Block for Jennifer
I made these blocks in early February and posted them on Instagram - I am @the_handmade_tail
But I have procrastinated on posting the blocks on here, sorry about that. I will get them in the mail today (I just discovered a post office that is open later so I can go after work).
These were fun to make! I enjoy HSTs and feel like I am getting better at them. Fun to put them in new configurations as I have never made a Crosses and Losses block before (anyone know why it's called that?)

Looking forward to seeing this quilt!

Hidden Nine-Patch for Tammy
Sorry for being so close to the end of the month. I could have used a 29th, 30th, and 31st, lol!
Thanks for choosing this block, Tammy. I'd never done a hidden 9-patch. I'll probably use it for my next charity quilt because it would make excellent leaders/enders and sew up fast.
Your color choices were wonderful! Really love this combo.
This block is going in the First Class mail today from Maryland.

February Block Hive 3
February Block Hive 3
So I just scraped in
I forgot February was a short month
Honestly I had issues with this block, the QST and I did not gel when it came to trimming
Overall I do like the effect though
In the mail
Ps the back ground is not white, in the photo it does look. I have included a fat quarter incase you need it for sashing etc

Hive 1 February Block for Jennifer
Hi everybody,
My phone died this morning so I had to grab a quick screenshot of my block off my computer, I hope the lighting's okay! I LOVE half-square triangles, they're my favorite thing to make and play with, so I really loved this block! I haven't done many backgrounds mixing up low-volume or even just mixing up background fabrics in general, so I enjoyed the opportunity to do that here as well. And of course, blue and green are favorite Seahawks colors in my neck of the woods. ;) Thanks Jennifer, I can't wait to see the finished quilt!
