Blocks for Chelsa

Two gloriously red blocks for Chelsa, I have left you to trim them but hope you like the fabrics.  Sorry they are a bit late but summer (unheard of in the UK), Birmingham Festival of Quilts and birthdays tended to get in the way.  Better late than never, they will be in the post tomorrow.

Hive 2 August Block for Adrienne

I echo my fellow hive members who have said that they're sad that this is the last month for Hive 2.  I've thoroughly enjoyed being a member of this bee and getting to know all of you.  It has been my pleasure to be your "hive mama".  If we start the bee up again I'll definitely be re-joining, but for now it will be nice to take a few months off and and not have any sewing commitments.

Here are your blocks Adrienne, I hope you like them. 

The blues are Kona Bluejay and Kona Lake.  They'll be in the mail along with Rebeckah's blocks soon.

Hive #2 .. my last posting

I have to say thanks to all the members of Hive #2 for the lovely time I spent with you. It was a great adventure making blocks I might would have never made. Thanks for the opportunity to do so and all your blocks to make my own quilt. I am a little sad this Bee is over! So here are my last blocks!

Wow I can't beleive this is our last month! What a great job Danny has done being our Mama, I can't thank her enough!

It's great to go out on a good block like this, I hope you like it Tiffany, I had great fun choosing fabrics :-)

Hive 3 Swoon blocks made into a fab quilt for Alzeheimers assoc.

My lovely lovely stash bee peeps. Thank you ... This quilt is almost completed as I am mid binding and will go to the assoc for their fund raiser in December.  I had some blocks remaining and am using those to make pillows to go in as extra prizes.

What was fascinating was to see how many different choices we made in the making of this block and I am aware that some found it slightly more challenging than others . This quilt has a light and energy of it's own and I am truly going to struggle with parting with it .

The quilting is a mix of hand and machine free motion.  I have done a scrappy binding . Thank you for your help and support and of course that lovely special person who made some "extras " .

As a group I was saddened we lost a few along the way  as well as the postal system appearing to eat a lot of my blocks . Apparently postal packages don't swim well . However it was great to be part of something that was international and knowing we made all those quilts .

I don't know why, but I was super surprised at how easy this block was.  I ended up making two because I was having color issues.  (Don't ask :) )  I really like the way they turned out, so I hope you do too!

I went a little crazy yesterday, this was so much fun! I used some fabric that I like, but don't know when to use, hence the giant tree frogs. Use what you like, or use it all; it's on its way to you!

Hive Three Finished April Top

Thought I would share the complete top made from the x and + blocks that you all sent. I am in love with it! I think I need to do some adjustments on the width of the Navy fabric so that it is a bit more off-center, but other than that I am loving all of the color and design you all sent :) I was going to wait to quilt it before I showed it off, but it may be a while until I get to it (it is in line for quilting behind a few others:))... Thanks again! This Bee has been a blast!
