Hive #2 March Block
Thanks for the chance to use some of my polka dots! I love how big this block is. I look forward to seeing it all come together!
April Block for Hive 3
I followed this TUTORIAL from Amy at Badskirt. I was going to run through the tutorial with you but honestly Amy's instructions are super clear, so why reinvent the wheel? The tutorial makes an 8” block. If you would like to make two, that would be great! They go together really easy.
In terms of color, I was going for scrappy and liked the color scheme I came up with by accident so if you could include in your blocks:
Yellow
Orange
Teal
Red
Purple
The only thing I would not like included is batiks.
Thank you all! Cannot wait to see your blocks.

Hive 2 - April Block Instructions - Part 1
Hello, Hive 2 quilters! I dropped the ball and forgot that April was my month to be Queen Bee. I thought I'd go ahead and post the link to the block I chose, even though I haven't made the block myself yet. As soon as I make up the block, I will post Part 2 to discuss any potential issues.
The block is called Road to Oklahoma, and the tutorial can be found here. The block is 12.5" unfinished. If you could use Kona white for the solid squares, that would be awesome. The print squares can be either a single color or scrappy -- you choose! Sorry this is so brief, I'm still trying to recover from Spring Break with the kiddos!

Hive 2 - March Block for Jan
Phew, with Spring Break winding down, I was able to finish up Jan's block just now. I had wanted to use squares from one color family, but alas I didn't have 24 squares of any one color. Thus I went the opposite direction and made the block completely scrappy. Hope you like it, Jan!

Holy Schnikey - I'm All Caught Up! (Hive #4)
During the Easter season when Christians around the world are celebrating the miracle of Jesus's resurrection, I am adding an additional celebration of my own miracle (though it's not anywhere close to the miracle of resurrection). I think I can actually say...I'm caught up on my Hive blocks following massive backlog thanks to moving.
I had a lot of fun with the March block, even if the seams aren't all perfect. Kelsey, I did not trim the final block size down, mainly because I didn't have a cutting mat/area large enough to do it safely. I figured you would prefer to have a slightly larger block you can trim down to the proper size than to get one that is all jacked up.
Pauline, your wonky house block, is, well, wonky. I hope that it isn't too small, but it is a house ;)
And applique...phew, the applique owl block is done. I went ahead and included it in the collage here so that the final applique can be seen (that was NOT easy for me in the least, but the design was fun to come up with the get attached prior to the applique).
So, bring it April. I've got some red fabric waiting already cut and green ready to join in at any time. After I celebrate the holiday with my family!
These three blocks will hit the mail sometime next week!

March Hive 2 Block for Jan
Hive #4 April Block
Hello, my name is Carol and FunThreads is my blog. I lived on the east coast for 49 years and was transplanted to Texas last spring. What an adventure it’s been.
About 26 years ago I grabbed a pattern and decided to teach myself how to sew. The first thing I made was a summer top that didn’t fit when it was finished but I learned a lot of lessons doing it. Now my job is teaching learn to sew classes at a local quilt shop. Who knew!
The hardest thing I ever decided to quilt was a hand appliquéd pattern called The Early Bird. I was in WAY over my head back then. It took me 20 years to finally sit down and get it finished.
My favorite dessert is Girl Scout thin mints. But anything containing chocolate will work for me.
My two most important life philosophies are don’t give up and say you can’t until you’ve at least tried once and enjoy each and every day.

Hive #4 April Block
Don’t worry you’re not seeing double! After testing several different ideas I decided I can’t live without a quilt made from last month’s blocks:) Sorry to hijack your block Kelsey!
This will be a Christmas quilt so please use reds, greens, and Bella white. I have plenty of Bella white ready for anyone that needs it so just let me know.
I would like one 19.5” block using the following changes:
(4) 6” squares Bella white cut diagonally into 2 triangles
(4) 2.75” x 7.25” Bella white
(2) 6” squares red cut diagonally into 2 triangles
(4) 2.75” x 7.25” red
(2) 6” squares green cut diagonally into 2 triangles
(4) 2.75” x 7.25” green

THANK YOU EVERYONE!

February & March Blocks (Hive 2)
Here are my blocks for Lynn, finally finished and heading to the post office tomorrow. Sorry they are so late, I hope you can still use them!
And my March block is finished! It will head to the post office tomorrow too. Getting back into the swing of things finally, hope this will be a trend of being on time!
P.S. I know it is only the end of March, but if the June/July ladies happen to know what they will be choosing, I will be moving cross-country and would love to get a start instead of asking for angel blocks!

Hive 3 for Jackie
Hi Jackie
Here are your blocks for the month. Hope the colors are ok... I had fun making this block. I have made a few trips around the world back in the day, but have not succumbed to the recent scrappy trend. Now I think I might need to just give it up and make one :)
I will post these this week.
Adrienne

Stash Bee Hive #4 March
Hi Kelsey,
This was a quick block to put together! Can't wait to see the finished quilt. I hope you like it, my stash is a little low on the red and blue fabric.
March blocks for Emily
I actually sent these off a couple of days ago. They've been done longer, but I'm a little slow on the uptake this week. Hope you like them ... I'm really pleased with how they turned out.
Hive 4 - Owl Block
If I don't watch myself, I might get caught up with all my blocks and have one done in the month it is due.
I just finished up my first ever applique attempt with mixed success for the December Owl block. I like the pattern/design I went with, though the applique process gave me headaches thanks to my machine refusing to cooperate and not having stitches as small as I wanted. I have, now, at least used stabilizer and fusible webbing for the first time so those won't be complete mysteries in the future!
I couldn't get the stitches small enough to do the small details (like the heart, eyes, and pupils), so I hope you don't mind just the branch, bodies and wings being appliqued. The rest should stick pretty well though.

Hive 1, for Emily
Hi Emily,
These were fun to make. Unfortunately, they are victims of poor photography. I have no idea where my camera is, so I used my phone. Ugh! I hope you enjoy them more in person.
